Slieve Donard
This is one of our summit treks. While quite an arduous trek this summit has truly outstanding views right from the get go.We start at the Bloody Bridge, scene of an infamous massacre in the eighteenth century. We work our way upriver passing through a now disused quarry, where the stone for some of Ulsters most famous landmark buildings was obtained. Including Belfast City Hall and Stormont Castle. Then onward to the wonderfully constructed Mourne Wall which has a story all of its own. Here we pause for a break, then begin the final push to the summit at 850m. It is difficult to describe just how good the views are from here.On a clear day you can see across to Scotland and up and down the east coast from beyond Belfast right down to Wexford. We descend from the top by a different route taking in outstanding views over

The Binnians

This is a hike for those who don’t mind getting all the hard work over at the start. Right from the off we start the ascent of Binnian, a climb of some 650m and taking about 90 mins, but rest assured if the climb doesn’t leave you breathless then the views from the summit surely will. We have outstanding vistas at every point of the compass, with Scotland clearly visible on a good day. The rest of our hike takes us on a beautiful ridge walk with views over reservoirs, dams and lakes. Add endless seascapes and you have one of our loveliest walks.
