A hike back in time through Ireland's Ancient past in the wonderful” Glen of the Two Lakes” Formed by the movement of the glaciers after the last ice age, our hike takes us past the Poulanass waterfall , over the boardwalk to the summit of Spinc Mountain at 495 mts. with outstanding views of the lakes and our industrial heritage at the old lead mines and ruins of the miners village. Throughout our hike we have views of the Monastic settlement of St. Kevin where we end with a tour of the site. Learn about the Round Tower, Sanctuary Stone, and some unusual gravestones.

Scots Village and J B Malone Monument One of our easier hikes but no less rewarding for it’s lack of hard graft. We visit the remains of one of our more unusual famine village sites, still in remarkable condition given the passage of time. Our hike gives us outstanding views of the surrounding countryside and mountains, taking in views of the lakes of Lough Dan and Lough Tay and the Vartry reservoirs. We travel a short distance back on the trail and visit the monument to J B Malone father of the Wicklow Way , returning to our start through the tunnel of trees.
